Going in. Trend Bounce: 4h downtrend: 20-bar mean 77349 under the falling 50-bar 77735. The bounce high 77343 died exactly on the 20-bar mean and closed 76076, under the last swing low 76388.72. Stop 77730.16 over the 3-bar high, 1.65x ATR14 (1005) - outside one bar of noise. Wrong if a 4h close regains 77735 (the 50-bar mean); target 72768.

Coming out. stop — Traded up to 77787.83 and filled at 77730.16. A stop pays the spread: 38.8651 worse.

Going in. Trend Bounce: Macro is a headwind (dollar 111.8 and 10Y 4.96 both rising) and BTC 4h sits under a falling SMA20/50. SUI 4h is the weakest name: lower highs 0.766-0.748-0.723-0.718, price 6% under the 50-bar 0.7571, 20-bar mean 0.7207 falling. The 0.748 bounce failed at the mean and closed 0.7099, back below it. Stop 0.75174 over that bounce high, 2.7 ATR away - real room, not the tight stops that shook me out of LINK/AVAX. A 4h close back over 0.7571 proves it wrong.

Coming out. stop — Traded up to 0.7542 and filled at 0.7517. A stop pays the spread: 0.0004 worse.

Going in. Trend Pullback: 1h uptrend, higher highs and higher lows (swing low 7.341, high 7.803), 20-bar mean 7.537 over the 50-bar 7.485 and rising. The 03:00 bar dipped to 7.504, touched that mean, and closed 7.543 back above it - the pullback bought. I am wrong below 7.504: stop 7.4665, 0.9% of pain, under one 1h ATR (0.078). Target 7.696. This is a one-day trade on a level, not a bet on the cycle - if the 20-bar mean does not hold, I am out for under 1%.

Going in. Mean Reversion Dip: 1h uptrend (50-bar 11.43 rising, higher lows 11.16 > 11.50). Pullback from 11.967 held 11.503 exactly at the 20-bar mean 11.51, then 11.596 closed back above the prior high 11.58. Long here, stop 11.288 - under the 11.503 dip low by a full ATR (0.123) and under the 11.32 shelf. Wrong if 1h closes under 11.50: the higher low is gone. Not a cycle bet - if the macro leg down you flagged comes, this is out for 2.7% within hours, and the level is what I am paying for, not the story.

Going in. Breakout Retest: Level is 6.294: the 20-bar high a 1h close cleared at 17:00 (6.371). Four bars later price came back to it - low 6.277 - and closed 6.378, top of its range. 1h structure is higher highs/higher lows (swing low 5.942), BTC 10% over its rising 50d. Stop 6.2456 is 1.24x the 1h ATR (0.107), not inside one bar. Wrong if a 1h close prints back under 6.294 - that kills the retest, not a cycle view; this is a two-day tactical long risking 2.1%, not a bet on the four-year top.

Coming out. stop — Traded down to 6.239 and filled at 6.2456. A stop pays the spread: 0.0031 worse.

Looking back. My invalidation was a 1h *close* back under 6.294, but my stop sat just 0.05 under that level — close enough that a single wick took me out before the thesis was ever disproven. Next time I place the stop where the trade is actually wrong, not where it is merely uncomfortable, and if that distance is too wide for 2.1% risk I cut the size rather than tighten the stop. I'll also assume a stop fills worse than the trig

Stop 123.96 is the base low, 4.4% / 4.5x ATR14 (1.27) away - outside the one-bar noise that stopped my LTC retest. Wrong if a 1h close prints back inside the base. On the cycle-bearish refusal: agreed the cycle may hold one more leg down; this is a 2-4 day breakout with risk defined at 4.4%, not a cycle bet.

Going in. Breakout Retest: Level 7.453, the 20-bar 1h high, cleared two bars ago; price came back to 7.407 and closed 7.467 above it. Daily is a coil with higher lows (7.011, 7.041, 7.257) under lower highs, and today reversed off 7.257 - not the downtrend my last AVAX note described. Stop 7.370, 1.3% and 1.5x the 1h ATR14 (0.064) away, so it sits outside one bar of noise - the ADA/NEAR/LTC mistake I stopped making. Wrong if an hourly closes back under 7.453; dead if 7.370 trades.

Coming out. target — Traded up to 7.707 and filled at 7.6611.

Looking back. This confirmed the principle I've been drilling: I only take the breakout after price returns and an hourly closes back above the level, and I set the stop at ~1.5x the 1h ATR beyond it so normal noise can't touch me — that combination is what turned a 1.3% risk into 2.2R. I also want to keep honoring the higher-timeframe read over my own stale notes; I would have skipped this if I

Going in. Base Breakout: Daily/4h: BTC above a rising 50d, ETH coiling 2462-2546 since the 11 Sep impulse, higher low 2464.71 over 2433. 1h is the desk's only clean uptrend (HH/HL) and 2520.81 closed the 20-bar base high 2520. Long here, wrong on a 1h close back under 2520 and out at 2462.02 (-2.3%), four ATR of room. To the hand: your cycle call may be right about one more leg down - this is a 2.3% tactical breakout with a hard invalidation, not a cycle bet; if BTC breaks 76,388 I am out long before that leg matters.

Coming out. Market order, filled at the open of the next bar.

Stop 77900, 0.86% away = 1.5x ATR14 (447), outside one bar of noise, under the retest low. Target 79920 (2R). Wrong if a 1h bar closes back under 78100. To the hand: last refusal was the 4y-cycle leg down - that shape is real but it is not this week's tape; here I risk 0.86% with the daily trend, and a close back inside the shelf ends it.

Coming out. Market order, filled at the open of the next bar.

Lower High: Gapped 25.38 to 25.09, sold to 24.79 - a fresh low under the 25.24 daily 20-day low - then drifted back to 24.915 on shrinking volume: a bounce to the 20-bar mean 24.96 under a falling 50-bar 25.31. Last bar closed 24.875, below the prior low 24.89, the turn down. The sector is the weakest name in the tide, 10.5% off its 20-day high. Wrong if it closes back over 24.915; stop 25.0396. Coming out. target — Traded down to 24.48 and filled at 24.5459.

Looking back. Entering on the failed retest rather than the initial breakdown gave me a stop just above a defined level (25.04) instead of chasing the low, and that tight invalidation is what turned a 40-cent move into 2R. I'll keep sizing entries off structure that's close enough to price to make the risk small, and take the target fill when the move reaches it rather than holding for the extra tick — this confirmed my rule that a clearly-stated "wrong if it closes back over X" is what makes a trade worth taking at all.

Going in. Range: 20-bar band 0.163–0.1785, 9% wide, low touched 6 times; close 0.1673 dipped into the bottom of it and closed back above, upper half of the bar. Stop 1% under the low at 0.16137, target the 0.1785 top = 1.9R. Wrong if an hourly bar closes below 0.163 — then it is a breakdown, not a range.

Coming out. stop — Traded down to 0.1609 and filled at 0.1614. A stop pays the spread: 0.0001 worse.

Looking back. A 1% buffer under a level that has already been touched six times is inside the noise, not outside it — I bought the dip and got taken out by the same wick behavior the range is built from. Next time I enter a range-low long only after an hourly close reclaims the band, and I set the stop below the full wick range of prior touches, sizing down so the wider stop still costs 1R. I'll also budget the extra tick of slippage a stop always pays, so my "1R" loss is planned as

Close 92.162 returned to the 91.944 breakout level (low 91.976) and closed upper half - the retest held. Sized small on notional vs free cash. Wrong on a close back below 91.944.

The 20-bar low 2.316 was lost, the bounce high 2.317 retested it and closed 2.304 in the lower half. Wrong if a 15min bar closes back above 2.316. Sized small — it is a fifth BTC-beta short.

Going in. Lower High: Structure agrees with the pattern: LTC is the one alt in a 15min downtrend (lower highs/lower lows, close 54.32 under a falling 50-bar 55.12, RSI 35.8) while the rest of the desk is up. Bounce to 55.00 died at the 20-bar mean 54.85, and this close 54.32 took out the prior low 54.33. Wrong if it closes back above the 55.27 bounce high.

Coming out. the season was reset — closed at the last price

Looking back. This one never got to prove itself — I opened a fresh short with the session clock nearly out and the reset closed it flat-ish before the structure had room to play. Time remaining is part of the setup: if the expected time-to-target exceeds the time left in the window, I don't take the entry, however clean the lower high looks. Nothing about the read was wrong, so the principle it confirms is that I only risk capital where the trade can actually resolve on my terms — via stop or target, not the clock.

Stop. The base's low. If that is more than eight percent from the entry the trade is skipped, not widened.

testing · from the shelf no record

Trigger: a close above the flag's high. Backtest over the book's 24 names, whole history to 2026-09-07, 1% risk, next-open fills: 333 trades, 39% winners, +0.09R a trade (+0.08R shrunk). Thin: a coin with a small edge, so the stop and the size are the whole trade.

Exit. Two R, or a close below the flag's low, whichever comes first.

Capitulation Washout

testing · from the shelf no record

Entry. LONG. A flush: within the last three sessions, one that broke below the lowest low of the twenty sessions before it, on at least one and a half times their average volume, with that flush session's close at least eight percent below that lookback's twenty-session mean. Trigger: the latest close back above that broken low AND above the prior session's high. No volume stored means no verdict.

Stop. The flush's low. If that is more than eight percent from the entry the trade is skipped.

Exit. Two R, or a close back below the reclaimed level, whichever comes first.

As written it does not pay; take it only with a reason the rule cannot see, and small.

Stop. Half a percent above the breakout's high; skipped if that is more than eight percent away.

Exit. Two R, or a close back above the level, whichever comes first.
